Using my photographs
Every photograph on this site is mine, and I keep the copyright. That is the normal position in the UK: the person who takes a photograph owns its copyright unless they sign it over in writing.
If you buy a print
The print is yours to keep, hang or give away. Buying a print doesn't include the right to copy or reproduce the photograph.
If you buy a digital file
You get a personal licence. You can print it for your own home, use it as a background on your phone or computer, and share it on your own social media with a credit to Steve Atlas.
You can't sell it or prints of it, use it to advertise or sell anything, change it beyond cropping, or use it to train artificial intelligence.
For anything for a business — a book cover, a website, an advert — get in touch and we'll agree a licence.
If I photographed your wedding or event
Your photographs are for you and your family to enjoy for ever. Print them, share them and post them online as much as you like. A credit is appreciated, never required. Please ask before selling them or using them to advertise a business.
I may show a few favourites in my portfolio, but only with your agreement.
Asking
Email steveatlas117@gmail.com and say which photograph (the reference is under each one) and what you'd like to do with it.
